Pilanesberg National Park

Day 1: Game Drives
Pilanesberg Game Reserve is in the Bojanala Region of the Northwest Province, adjacent to Sun City. An abundance of wild life proliferates in 580 km of diverse and arresting bushveld terrain. The park is home to healthy populations of lion, leopard, black and white rhino, elephant and buffalo - Africa's "Big Five". A wide variety of rare and common species exist like the nocturnal brown hyena, the fleet-footed cheetah, the majestic sable, as well as giraffe, zebra, hippo and crocodile, to mention but a few.

Day 2: Elephant Back Safari
Transfer to “The Elephant Wallow” will be approximately 20 minutes through the Letsatsing Game Reserve giving guests an opportunity to view game along the way. On arrival, welcome drinks are served and guests are given an introductory talk and introduced to the elephants and their handlers. The elephants are then saddled and the safari commences. After approximately an hour on elephant back guests return to “The Elephant Wallow” for light snacks.

Day 3: Hiking Trails
These hiking trails focus on locating and observing the inhabitants of the Pilanesberg National Park from a different angle - on foot. Guests are accompanied by a qualified guide who will share his/her extensive knowledge and experience on both fauna and flora. Excursions depart in the early morning and take 4 hours.

Day 4: Predator Park Tours
This tour is offered daily where guests can enjoy the excitement of viewing carnivores, reptiles and ratites from up close, a unique experience not to be missed. Day 5: Game Drives in Sabi Sands Game Reserve
Sabi Sands, formed in 1934, is the oldest of all the private reserves and part of the largest conservation area in Southern Africa. It is also part of the Great Limpopo Transfrontier Park that links the Limpopo National Park in Mozambique, Kruger National Park in South Africa, Gonarezhou National Park, Manjinji Pan Sanctuary and Malipati Safari Area in Zimbabwe, as well as two areas between Kruger and Gonarezhou, namely the Sengwe communal land in Zimbabwe and the Makuleke region in South Africa. It is home to a number of endangered species, which include the Wild Dog, Bats, 10 of the species are on the endangered list, Honey Badgers, Oxpeckers and the Ground Hornbill. Early morning and late afternoon game drives in an open safari vehicle, with an experienced ranger, are an unforgettable experience.

Day 6: Kruger National Park Game Drive
The world-renowned Kruger National Park offers a wildlife experience that ranks with the best in Africa. Established in 1898 to protect the wildlife of the South African Lowveld, this national park of nearly 2 million hectares, San Parks - Kruger National Park is unrivalled in the diversity of its life forms and a world leader in advanced environmental management techniques and policies. Truly the flagship of the South African national parks, Kruger is home to an impressive number of species: 336 trees, 49 fish, 34 amphibians, 114 reptiles, 507 birds and 147 mammals. Man's interaction with the Lowveld environment over many centuries - from bushman rock paintings to majestic archaeological sites like Masorini and Thulamela - is very evident in the Kruger National Park.

These treasures represent the cultures, persons and events that played a role in the history of the Kruger National Park and are conserved along with the park's natural assets. Game viewing at Kruger National Park has been described as a 'spine tingling experience'. Watch in absolute awe and wonder as the Lion stalks its prey, or at the Cheetah chasing fleeing antelope at breathtaking speed. You might come across the Park's big and tall, the gigantic and stately Elephant, and gaze at the dizzying height of Africa's tallest creature, the Giraffe.

Day 7: Kapama Private Game Reserve
Thirteen thousand hectares of undisturbed bushveld forms the backdrop to the Kapama Private Game Reserve in South Africa, where a myriad of animal, plant and bird species reveal the essence of Africa. It occupies a vast area between the northern Drakensberg mountains and the Greater Kruger National Park. It is the largest single-owner game reserve in the region, and is perfectly situated to receive guests flying into Eastgate Airport (Hoedspruit). Kapama Game Reserve is in Limpopo Province, an area renowned for superb safari vacations. Its 13000 hectares has all the big game of Africa with 42 mammal species and approximately 350 bird species.

This equates to huge natural diversity and includes the famed 'Big 5' - lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and rhino. Game drives are conducted through the rolling savannah, grasslands and riverine forests that make up this appealing African reserve. This Game Reserve provides an authentic, intimate safari experience, boasting amazing wildlife viewing, in the African bush, whilst retaining all the luxuries and comforts of en-suite facilities and home-from-home lodging.

Day 8: Mabula Private Game Reserve
Only two short hours drive North of Johannesburg lies the African wonder that is Mabula Private Game Reserve. This 12000ha of malaria free reserve is home to an abundance of wildlife and birds, including the world famous Big Five.Home to some 60 mammals, 300 bird species, 100 plant types and numerous reptile and insect species, Mabula is the Heartland of the Safari experience.Here, all natures' wonders are revered - from the 'Big Five' (lion, leopard, buffalo, elephant and rhino) to the 'small five' (ant lion, leopard tortoise, buffalo weaver, elephant shrew and rhino beetle).
