THE AYURVEDA EXPEDITION
(KERALA)

Kerala has emerged as the most acclaimed destination in the country. National Geographic Traveler after two years of research chose Kerala as one of the ten destinations in the Paradise Found Category. The only Indian destination that featured other than Kerala was the Taj Mahal in the World Wonders category.
Nowhere in the world will you find so shining a landscape. Liquid green silks wind through tranquility, Palm fringes embroider their shadows on the waters. Here, on the backwaters, Kerala have added rooms to match the view. Luxurious houseboats and simple country crafts. Kerala is one long beach. Perhaps the world’s longest. Her waters bluer than the waters. If heaven had a beach, it would be here. In God’s Own Country.

Day 01 |
0650 hrs : Departure by flight No. IC 803 from Delhi.
1055 hrs : Arrive Cochin Airport
Ceremonial welcome at the airport which would include “Thalapoli” Girls dressed in traditional Kerala dress with oil lamps and flowers to receive the visitors temple musicians and caprisoned elephants. After a welcome drink of tender coconut, proceed to Allepey (02 hours drive) to board the “Kettyvallem” House boats for a relaxing overnight cruise through the Backwaters of Kerala.

Day 02 |
Morning :
After breakfast disembark at COCONUT LAGOON. Check in to The Heritage mansions/ Bungalows.
Mid morning : Ayurveda Massage for those who are interested.
After lunch : Farm visit to see the rural life of Kerala and their cultivation of rice, banana, cocoa etc.
Late Afternoon : Lecture on Ayurveda by a prominent Ayurveda Expert (We could try to get Dr. Padmanabha Vaidyar, a famous Doctor who claims that he has the cure for most illness including Aids or Dr. Mohar from the Cochin Royal family.
Late Sunset : Kathakali performance
The show would be in three parts:
- The preparation. Extraordinary facial make-up by the artists and costumes.
- Short talk on kathakali with description of the various hand and eye movements.
- A short play from the Mahabaratha

Day 03 |
Surya Namashkar - Yoga with lecture / demo by an expert Yoga exponent
Mid Morning : Time for Ayurveda
Late in the Morning : There would be a demonstration of Ayurveda. Cooking by an expert and also Hands-on experience. Followed by a Traditional “SADHYA” a Kerala Wedding lunch served on Banana leaf.
Late Afternoon : “Vallom Kalli” the famous Snake Boat Race
(Perhaps after the main race, we can arrange a race amongst the Members of the group alongwith the local champions)
After Sunset : “Kalari Pyatt” the Martial Art performance. Followed by a Farewell BBQ
Dinner by the lake side.
Overnight : Coconut Lagoon

Day 04 |
After breakfast brunch boat transfer to Puthenangadi to connect the Bus to take them to the Airport with city sightseeing of Cochin on route
Help and assit at airport to connect flight No. IC 804
1455 hrs : Cochin departure
1900 hrs : Delhi arrival
